As the US player how can I capture Tassafanga which is currently controlled by Jap. player? I have Army units in Lunga hex that share this hex with Jap. land unit. When I order land units to move to Tassafanga hex it says " not allowed" I think understand this which Jap units in same Lunga hex. Then I want to invade hex by sea! How do I do this? Can units be sent by ship to Jap controlled Tassafanga and disembark and do an attack to capture base. As far as I can tell there are no Jap units on ( or in ) Tassafanga hex. I am in Nov. 42 and US does not have LTS or LCI yet. The same can be posed to any enemy controlled base. Can you disembark troops there and if so can you fight in that hex?

You must "remove" the jap land units from your base to march into Tassafaronga so attack and attack and bomb and bomb until they retreat .
Make sure you bomb Tassafaronga to kill their supplies to avoid supplies moving to jap land units .

Use your AP to move troops in .
If you're sure there are no jap troops sitting in Tassafaronga - Use Recon flight to look at ! - then use some small Raid Bn with Destroyers/Cruisers on Fast Transport with Fighters on Long Range Cap to avoid Bettys nailing your ships

Load up a fast transport of CA'S , CL'S and destroyers with combat troops
and pick tassaforonga as your destination and they will perform an amphibius
assault on the base. ( you can send transports and fast transport missions to any base)
also you can fly Paratroops to any base with transport planes and PBY'S.
Your troops in lunga will not be able to move with enemy troops at lunga since they are in combat.
also you can completely destroy this enemy force in lunga if you land troops at tassaforonga to cut off there retreat path and then assault them with a deliberate attack at your base.
also you can land an amphibius assault on a baren hex that shares water with land,
use this method to cut off supply lines between enemy bases to help starve them out.
For instance your the japanese and you invaded townsville, charter towers will still recieve supply from rockhampton and also send supply up to cairns and cooktown.
you can fast transport troops to a water/land hex between cairns and townsville to stop
the supply chain from charter towers to cairns and cooktown, also send an infantry unit
south a couple of hexes to cut off supply to charter towers.
