Just started playing the game and noted a mess of PT boats in Noumea. How in the world can I get those fellows to somewhere where I can use them? Are the stuck pretty much where they are built? Thanks.

I'd like some help with this, too. The boats in the Phillipines (they start in Manila, I think) are hard to get -anywhere- useful.

Are we supposed to use replenishment TFs? Or just hop from port to port?

Put them in a Transport or Escort TF with some other ships that have fuel to spare. They will automatically refuel from the big boys. Note, this slows the TF down a bit.

The PTs are cheap...use them where they are...they'll dwindle but get you a few returns...I don't bother to move them.

Rogue is right about the useage.

However, if you really, really have to get them out. Remember - no TF ever truly runs out of fuel. They will all move at 1 hex per turn forever.

At least that's what I've observed, and I swear I read it in the manual somewhere (it's supposed to simulate a tow?).

It simulates ships too small for the scope of the game taking them under tow.

Imagine a fleet of dingies pulling a CV and the voice over for Russell Crowe:

"Pull you laidies...put your backs into it and pull for your lives!"
