We have been ordered to move to a spot west of Krakow. We are to set up our lines and to delay the Poles as long as we can. This is in support of the X Panzer Group. They have also been ordered to hold the Poles and not let them break thru our lines. They are to the south of us on our right flank. I for one am glad to have them there. A very steady and fearsome opponent to our enemy. Visability is near 1200 yds. A clear and beautiful day.

We have sighted the enemy already. They are sending in armored cars with horse troops. There scouts are out in front but have not reached our mine fields as yet. I have ordered all guns to hold fire till they are with in 500 yds of our lines. I hope to catch them napping with our first volleys.

All the men are ready and eager to start this our first encounter with the enemy. All weapons are locked and loaded and im sure sighted in on some poor soul.

The enemy is probing our lines all up and down our fronts. The North flank has been light maybe due to the swamp that covers a third of there front. A few UHL troopers on horse back and some scouts are trying to push thru there.

The South flank has fired on some armored cars that have come up the road from the east. The enemy has lost several cars to this fire. At least 2 scout squads and ATR squads have been destroyed at this road block. I have had my troops hold fire till the enemy closed to with in 500 yards.

The center has seen the most action. As is to be expected. 3 Light tanks and at least 4 armored cars have been eliminated here. Also 3 and maybe 4 squads of infantry plus numerous uhl troopers have been killed. Here too we held up till the enemy was with in 400 yds of us. We then caught them in a murderous cross fire of 37MM ATG and MMG. There losses were incured in the first 15 mins of fire. I will say the Poles have a bit more ferocity then i expected. We are being attacked by remnants of squads. Some squads are attacking with less then 5 men left in them.

We lost an 231 rad 6 to ATR fire in this exchange. Plus we have lost a few men out of a couple of squads. But we are holding and inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. The apcs seem to take a heavy toll from there constant bombardments. We have lost 3 of them so far and our 150 sig33 are under heavy suppresion.

West of Krakow 1045 Hours

This battle ended rather abrubtly for me. It was a massive and decisive Victory for us.
5673 Germans 123 Poland

Losses ours Losses theres

Men 13 1108
APC 1
AFV 1 25

Our men performed well for there first taste of battle. I did not expect the fight to end so soon. The Poles had an enormus amount of men left to give up so easy. All fronts i had set up a murderus cross fire of ATG and MMG. The PZ 38t performed very well. Although i will feel better when we get the PZIII E tank. I also liked the PZK Ib with its excellent MMG. I saw whole squads being decimated with this gun. The poles sent there tanks in with good support. They just were no match against ours. This was because of the good visabilty for sure. Our tank crews made some very good shots at long range. Also holding off until they were with in 400 to 500 yds worked well too.

We have a month off before we see action again. Next month we are to move to Jaroslaw. It will be good to go home for a week and see the family. We are to get 6/2 AA in place of the old 10/4 we had. Also the 2 platoon leaders of the medium tanks have gotten PZIIIE to replace there PZ38t. I know they will be happy about that. Almost forgot a new 88 ATG for one of the old 37mm. Repairs are being made on some of the equipment and some leave has been allowed.
