Can anyone tell me how the fuel consumption is calculated.
Or at least a tip how you know how much fuel a base needs.

Bases don't use fuel...ships do...it all depends on how much shipping goes through there.

And ground units and air units?
Don't the use fuel?

Nope.. ships only use fuel. Ground and air units consider supply as fuel.

Thanks.
So can anyone tell me how to calculate fuel consumption for my ships.

Your TF always needs 10% more than you can conveniently lay hands on [:D]

Yea but that dosen't really help.
I don't care about Endurance, I want to know the fuel consumption so I know how much fuel should be available at the port.
pg.94
"The program will deduct a certain amount of fuel depending on how much Endurance
ship has expended. Calculating fuel usage for your ships is unnecessary. More important
is to ensure that you send fuel to your advanced ports so your ships can replenish."

Endurance IS fuel consumption [;)]
If you just want to get an idea of how much fuel you'll need to fill up a group fo ships, just add up the fuel numbers.
ie: a BB about 4k, CV's about the same, CA's about 2k, smaller ships < 1k
A large TK will fill up about a normal 9 ship surface group of CA's and DD's
A couple of TK's for a CV group, etc

15000 Endurance and 1000 Fuel are the same???
If so why the hell do we have Endurance at all?

Endurance for ships is how many miles it can go at cruising speed on a full tank. So if you want a "miles per ton of fuel" figure, you can calculate from these two pieces of data. However, at full speed, consumption can skyrocket to 5-7 times cruising speed consumption (this is the nature of ship boiler operation). Thus if you want to calculate what fuel you need available at a base for a TF, a good rule of thumb is 3 times the fuel needed for the distance travelled at cruise speed.
