Routing Bug or Misinformation

Please ignore (I'm not sure how to delete this). I have been unable to reproduce the route originally shown for the TF. Saves show the route going directly to destination. I have no idea how the route graphic I originally saw appeared, but I'm checking my medications.
Playing Scenario 2 vs AI, patched up-to-date. A convoy is en route to Alkyab (sp?) from Tricomilee (sp?). The projected route shown for the task force has it moving well north, hugging the coastline and moving initially towards Chandpur before turning south towards Alkyab. This was done by the AI, presumably to avoid enemy air located at Rangoon.
Given the route I don't bother to set a cap to cover the TF. When the turn executes, the TF ignores its intended route and moves instead directly toward its destination, penetrating well into the Rangoon air ZOC. Pffft. Seconds later, 4 transports with a sqn of Hurricanes and a British Rgt are no more.
Was this a bug? Either in the direction that the TF moved or the intended path shown or is it intended that this sort of misinformation occur occasionally (eg. simulated human error)?
