I just started my first full campaign, which was a PBEM.

It took 8 hours to do all the moving around as the Allies.

Anyone spend that much time ?

BAH, if you take 8 hours as the allies on the first turn, do not try the IJN you will spend 20 hours on them.

I got the IJN side down to about 6-8 hours on a non historical 1st turn.

On the IJN? About 36 hours and filled a legal pad with notes. That is how I managed to drive it down to 6-8.

But production took the most time. Have not tried the allies. Played them exclusivly in PACWAR and UV. Had to go to the dark side.[:D]

I just completed a Scen 16 first turn as Jap PBEM. It took me about 10 manhours over the course of a few days. Good news is that I saved it in slot #16, so from now on it's a 2 minute first turn as Japs with same strategic goals. If I wanna mod invasion sites or TF taskings, then maybe a half hour at most. But all the nitnoid shtuff like sending excess AK's back to Japan, getting China "right", airbase reorginazation, subs on human control...all that crap is done already. I'm sure I ain't the first one to discover this.

I have a pre built scenario 15 done. But do not play it anymore. Only play Lemurs scen26.

Lemurs' scenario 26, as the Japanese, non-historical, surprise... I guess it took me over 20 ours to do my first turn the first time against the AI (not ready to do PBEM yet). Especially since I decided to explore the possibility of striking three ports (PH, Manila, Singapore) on turn one, as well as reaching as far as I could to the South. I will post my findings as an AAR (saving the combat results of each turn, but I want to have at least a week of 1-day turns before I comment on them.

lots and lots of time on my first against ai game as Emporer.. my first pbem big 15 as Allies, looking at every base, unit , plane ship etc took several hours.. maybe 2 to 3
