This game could have been the perfect Elite revamp if it had trading.
Please put trading in the game and maybe add some storyline for trading, missions, etc. Release it as a new StarShatter Traders pack...

Uhhh, from my understanding milo made this as a military combat sim not a re-vamp of anything.

I disagree, the game is a military sim not a traders delight sim.
Even if you could trade you'd need to populate the place with a considerable amount of content, setup the wares, redo the campaign, allow transit between star systems, etc.
In effect you're looking at an entirely new game!

hmmm it could be a nice extension ... but the main problem aubout such things r powerfull servers that hosts huge persident worlds ... eve, jumpgate, x2 got such and u have to pay a monthly fee to connect to these worlds ... if u make such a thing with starshatter as it is now in his aspects of simulation u wont get much players ... cause the normal mmo-gamer dont care much about realism they want all the uber-character with the most powerfull equipment under thier asses ... and it ends up in stupid lvl-huting ... realism would destroy their hope to be the best by asking in chat what mob at thier lvl drop the most $ and xp.[:D]

belive it or not I looked into this angle
it is possible, but ya it would need a MAJOR re-write of some things, and you would need a live universe.. well.. it could be done... I know milo could pull it off... but it would be really long term.. and it couldnt be just another eve or privateer or it would die fast, it would need some really unique functions, like semless planet landings, REAL planets.. so you can actually land ANYWHERE on the planet, or fly over the whole thing(fractal terrain or something) allow you to seutp bases anywhere on planets... hide loot.. random encounters.. cities scattered (dynamically generated... building 100's of cities by hand would be insane)
you would need to be able to build corps..... stations.. factories.. actuall stock market.. god just the pure economic work alone would be enough to drive you crazy, not to mention geo-politics, wars, handeling events the player can control and cant while at the same time doing eveything you can to prevent the player from destroying the universe without looking like you are.... sigh....makes me glad I"m not a programmer(well not a real one anyways)
simple put, milo couldnt do it alone, although... if he ever wanted to , Id be there in a second to help out with graphics, privateer type games are my fav type above all else.... and there is so much that should be done with them that isnt
oh and of course the typical multiplayer.... if done right owuld be easy... the other players just "fit" into the game world.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!! [:-] I don't WANT an Elite revamp.. perfect or otherwise.
The game has nothing to do with trading, nor should it.
