Hello all. I have never heard of SP before and was wondering if there is a page that explains the basics of this game... is it RTS,turn based and others? It does look good and im sorry for the way things are turning out for SPWAW, even though I dont really understand them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Von Shrad

Hey von shrad, I replied to your post on the CM board.
If your interested, E-MAIL me and we can trade, or you can just have the game, but it would be nice for something in return.

Von: Steel Panthers is turned based, top down, hex based game. There are three SSI Steel Panthers games. The original "Steel Panthers" WW2... "Steel Panthers 2" 1950-1999...."Steel Panthers 3" WW2-1999 with brigade sized units. The variant discussed here is "Steel Panthers World at War" It does not need any Steel Panthers CD to play as it will be available as a free download in May and as a free CD in several Gaming mags (must buy the mag).

Adding to what Mark has said, the game is a tactical level World War II game that allows you to control all units in movement and fire. As you can see from the screen shots, you are looking down on the battlefied.

The amount of control and the options in this game are fantastic. You have 27 countries represented in the time period from 1930-1949. You have a game that can portray fighting on any front, North Africa, Europe, mountainous Italy, the islands of the Pacific and more.

This is one of the few games that allows you to conduct amphibious invasions.

It also has the linked battles or campaign features where you take units through the entire war.

It is very difficult to mention all that you have in the game. I recommend you go to "Products" here at Matrix Games, SPWW2 section and read up on some of the things that will be included. You'll enjoy it, I assure you. And the price ain't bad, either (G). Its free!..Wild Bill

Unfortunately, I couldn't get SPIII to work on my system.
It is good news to here SPW@W will not require a SP CD to play. I am looking forward to the game
