I'm going to buy this game but is there any possibility to get a demoversion first?

Not at all as it is not in Matrix policy to provide any demo. Unfortunately...[:(]

A demo release would also be bad because it would take away from the work on the main game.[&:]

EiA doesn't really lend itself to a demo. The game is too long and complicated to make this kind of build and yes you're all right! Not enough time. I want the whole thing!

You mean a playable demo of just 1805-1815 with all players turned on is out of the question? <eg> [:D]

Personally, I do not have a problem that Matrix does not supply a demo since their reputation exceeds the need for one...for the cautious of you out there, the best thing to do is not rush to buy the game on the first day (difficult to do I admit...[:)]) and read a few days worth of forum postings to get a good idea how the game is received.....

Yes, this is the best idea for everyone, which is why I am planning on watching, reading and waiting, maybe even for a later version of the game. The only problem with this is if everyone does this, no one will know what the game is like and Matrix won't make any money off of it, causing no further version releases.

unless its a unknown i dont wait for the future patches etc. (although i probably should after getting burnt on HOI) Even if the game is a walkover with the AI it still is fun the first time you play (victory feels a little hollow however) and Its good to know that i have the game ready to go once the new patch comes out. Dont know how things work everywhere else but getting obscure games in Australia can be hard and waiting a week for the game to come in the post is torture if its a game i really want to play.

Count me in, I too will imediately purchase the game.[8D] After all, with the amount of time that Matrix has been beta testing and fixing bugs, the game should be near perfect and not require any patches[:'(]

The only possible game breaker in the PBEM EiA will be the way they will manage to implement naval interceptions from the original design, and that is you had an opportunity to decide who to intercept and when. Computer EiA in PBEM will not give us that option, they will have AI routine do that decision making for us based on the general orders we give it. I hope there is a "British naval capability fanboy" amongst the betas who will playtest this routine enough so it does not brake the game ballance. Everything else I have read so far on the forum makes me confident it will be a sound gaming investment [:D]

In any case, I've allready bought WiTP for $70 which was a steal compared to the amount of time I am and will enjoy with that release. [:D] So I think I will buy EiA imediatelly upon release, regardless. Even if I won't be happy with it before the patches, I think MG deserve the $$$ and hopefully patches will make EiA perfect and they will do a TCP/IP version [:D]

I also bought WITP right away. It wasn't the first day because I happened to be on vacation then. I bought it the night that I got home though. Been playing ever since. Something to do while waiting for EIA.

Also plan on buying it right away. Followed by serious efforts to convince folks at the local gaming club to buy copies as well for use as a miniature campaign system.
