get this
mod works fine uncompressed

I compress it to a dat
and it crashes after the matrix game logo saying

Loading Galaxy: narn/narn.def
ERROR: invalid galaxy file 'narn/narn.def'
"STARSYSTEM"

that system works fine before I compressed it, I dont even know WHERE to start to find this error

This is a bug, the game's trying to parse everything under the galaxy directory as galaxy definitions.

is there a fix? or is this something milo will have to fix?

Sorry about that. I just implemented a fix for this bug, which will be in 4.0.3.
