Japanese Nambu pistol, 8mm.

And it is not a very good weapon...

Type 14 Nambu 8mm, the enlarged trigger guard and the mag retaining spring in the front of the grip mark it as one of the later models made after 1939.

Very dirty Nambu..Btw,the projection sticking out under the cocking knob is a fixed loop to accept a lanyard clip..Military version..Correct nomenclature is the Nambu "14th year" model,with the enlarged trigger guard(circa 1939+)..Was issued to NCO's but could be purchased by officers.
This version is also called the "Kiska" model as it was 1st seen outside Japan in the Aleutions by American G.I.'s..(thank you Ian Hogg/John Weeks).

Btw, it looks kinda flimsy to me. I think I could make a better gun in less time using the machinery in my niece's workshop...
