Has a scenario ever been done for this battle? Does anyone have a map of the battlefield that could be used to build a scenario?

IIRC the Desert Fox mega campaign has a battle based on Derna. You might be able to use or modify this map. I think this is in the map files accompanying the game, and may even be named in this list. If not, you'll have to trawl through the map list to find the map. The are many that are set in N Af.

I browsed through my downloaded scenarios list, but couldn´d find any scenario on the topic.

You can certainly use the Derna map, if you wish, Major. Knowing your attention to detail (remember Dieppe? - [;)] ), you might want to modify it to your needs.
As far as I know that is the only case in SPWAW where something has been done on the subject.
