I think I found out why the Editor's scens crap out...

It has to do with the devices. I tried the one I was making up for the WPO mod, and it even crashed Mike's witpload utility. I left all the required devices in, and it still toasted it. If I dump a stock one, or one where the devices haven't been played with (mine), and import it, it works fine. I'm going to try adding my new devices to the end of a current device file, and see if that works. My hunch right now is that you can't touch ANY of the current devices, you can only add new ones.

OMG I am such an idiot. I just realised why mine craps out is because for the US naval guns, I put them as say 12"/40 Mk 5 or what not, so when the game tried to read it, I guess the quotes were screwing everything up.... HAHAHAHAHA, God, I can be so stupid at times. Ok, let me see what switching " with in does....

Hallelujah! All I have to do now is finish the OOB and addin ships, and I can test this baby! Hopefully that was the one and only hurdle I had to get through for this mod.

Well crap, I'm back to square one. I have added in all the "required" devices, and I'm using all the original LCUs. My classes aren't finished yet, and I have entered in only 2 ships. For testing, I have all aircraft types and air groups still in. Still it hangs on loading 80% of the scenario.... back to the drawing board I guess.

I did read that. That's why I decided to just use scenario 15 (and all its inherit LCUs, arrival dates, etc). FOr some reason, it still won't even load. The only things that are not there is I haven't completely filled out the ships part yet. Everything else is either completely filled out, or is using the original database.

Yep.
In CSV type file formats, text strings are delimited by a quote (") at the start and end. The string "12"/40 Mk 5" would have caused my utility to misread the data. I might see if I can't add a bit more parsing of the string to handle "odd" number of quotes.

Na, I don't mind fixing, that took 2 minutes. What's bugging me is the scenario won't load into WiTP. I am using all the original LCUs from Scen 15, so all I can think of now is that there is a minimum number of ships that must be present. Soon as I get a more complete ship OOB done I'll test and see if that is it.

Nope, I've stripped shipping and air completely and had no issues.

@ Mr. Frag, you had no issues with shipping? I just did a file by file test of the work I have done. I took the OOB from scenario 28, and with Mikes WITPLOAD, put in my new devices, then the classes, then the ships. The devices went in smoothly, the classes a little bumpy (I had fantom ships using the new classes), and when I put in my ships, it failed to load at all. Any ideas? I'll play with it more, and see what I can come up with.

I got it to load now, using the stock ships. The Japanese ships work fine (except that the classes are messed up, naturally.) Hoever, if I click on an Allied ship, the game goes black and completely crashes.
