I have not received the game yet but based upon that I have read on this forum the city of Bayeux is mispelling.
So I would greatly appreciate that Bayeaux will be correted in the upcoming patch to:

BAYEUX

Villers-sur-Mer instead of Villiers-sur-Mer
Colombelles instead of Golombelles
Grandcamp instead of Grandchamps
Thury-Harcourt instead of Thurey-Harcourt
Vassy instead of Vassey
Quineville instead of Quinneville
Sourdeval instead of Sourdevil
Barenton instead of Barrenton
St-Hilaire instead of St-Hillaire
Cherrueix instead of Cherrulex

Normandy is not a problem as it is correctly spelt at least in English...[:D]but regarding the names I have picked up,I don't think there is an english version for those names or I am not aware...So let me know if I am wrong.
IMHO the BIG mistake concerns the city of Grandcamp located in the department of Calvados.
Grandchamp does effectively exist,but it is located in the department of Morbihan which is off game map more than 150 km away...

Then consider those names American translations.

You could be right but I greatly doubt that there is english translation for such small towns.
We don't use any translation for most US,UK or Australian cities.
I don't want to bother anybody about that,but as I am fascinating by history and geography,so I just would like those names to be correctly spelt;I think it is a legitimate request...
Could anyone from SSG answer my request please?

What is the difference in St vs. Ste ? as in the two you list:

Ste-Honorine and not St-Honorine
St-Ovin and not St-Orvin

I thought it was for Saint.. as in the village.. town etc of Saint Bob etc ?
Is STE different than ST? or am I confused? I am referencing how you are using it, not the game by the way! thanks for the inportant input.

St is the abbreviation for Saint which is only applicable to male name.
Ste is the abbreviation for Sainte that you can only use with female name;by example the village name of Ste-Mère-Eglise:you have to use Ste instead of St simply because Mère is a female name in French.Is it another French exception...[:D]
You don't have this kind of problem in English.[:)]
If I translate this name into english it would have resulted in something like St-Mother-Church...[:D]
Hope I have been clear enough.

Moreover regarding the name of a lot cities in BiN,the developers have chosen not displaying their complete names otherwise the map would have been overloaded,that I can also understand;so I am a little bit confused when I try to find my way on the map using the town names;I got lost...[:D]They didn't pick up the most informative part of the name.
It remains a dozen of names that I have not been able to check simply because those very small villages don't exist anymore or the spelling is so far away from the correct one that I am not able to identify;they have probably been completely destroyed during the combat and have not been rebuilt.It is quite the countryside outthere.
