Why do ships at sea expend ops points for no apparent reason?

A guess: Shuffling fuel around to others in the TF running low?

It has the same fuel level as the other BB. Unless the other BB had ops points used the last turn, I'd say it's not fuel related.

I've noticed this phenomenom too. I'm not sure what it's from. It's never interfered with my operations, though.

Guess 2: Recovering a float plane?

they will get wilder until someone actually can answer. I'm darn curious myself.

Guess 3: taking a poll of the crew as to why US CV and CA respawn, but US BB do not?

(just making a joke and not really meaning to hijack this thread)

The crewof the Iowa are just business like and ready to start the next turn. The crew of the New Jersey, however, wasted one quarter of their turn posting messages asking if there is a new estimate on when the patch will be available.

I knew giving those D@#% sailors internet capability at sea would interfere with real work getting done...

had to dump the poop overboard after crossing the internatioanal date line, or is it the meridian? where they initiate the sailors?

It is probably fueling another ship, not being fueled. Check the max fuel levels on all the ships in the taskforce. You probably have a ship with a small gas tank that needs more frequent fillups. Fuelling takes ops points both from the fueler and the fuelee from what I can tell.

But its the only TF in the hex.

My bad there is another tf there, maybe it fueling a ship from it.

It would not auto fill a ship outside it's own task force. It was probably topping off a DD.

But then the DD would show some OP points being used up. Shouldn't it?

Good point. Hrmmmm... I guess it is possible he clicked refuel at Sea from another TF, but I didn' think that worked that way... I dunno.

Ah, I got it. You are playing Mogami and to slow down your advance, he left rafts loaded with Pilsner Urquel floating around behind him. The BB's is moving around, fishing them out of the water.

Pilsner Urquel

That would only be possible in an ETO game. It was probably just some Pabst or Burgie if it is in the PTO in the 1940s

The equator is where the transmogrification from a polywog to a neptune takes place.[&o]

Crossing the Line ceremonies occur on the equator. Then they become "shellbacks".
Don't think the screenshot is south far enough.

That's right....the senior shellback is neptune--ruler of the briney deep.
