No, the AI does not have strategy cards. That is an advantage that the player gets.

No, the AI does not see through the fog of war. However, the AI does have a "sense" of where your troops are. We worked hard to keep the AI from cheating -- i.e., having any information that you do not have -- but he is given some advantages around "feeling" you a bit further out than you can sense him.

(For those of you familiar with AI techniques, we are using an influence map system to give the AI this knowledge. However, it is not a perfect influence map and the AI is never given the exact location of your troops unless he can see them.)

Without playing a map before, I can generally guess where the enemy is, so the AI should have that ability as well. [:)]

Yes, the game is entirely done in C# using Managed DirectX. For this type of game, we have found that it is a really productive environment, and you really don't see any decreased performance that could be associated with Microsoft .NET applications. (The big down sides to using C# for games is that you lose portability to other platforms -- i.e., consoles -- and you can't eek out the highest framerates, which are normally only required for very detailed first person shooter games.)

Nice, I was very surprised when the installation program asked me to install the .NET framework!
Btw, I dont think that the framework necessarely implies a decrease of performance, at least in business applications
