Renkum Raid

Hi!
I'm a new player to HTTR and I just played my very first real battle: the Renkum Raid.
The Objective: to secure a crossing over the Nederrijn just south of Renkum.
Allied Forces: 1st Parachute Brigade
The capture operation itself went very smoothly. By 13.00 hours, the south bank was secure. However, the Security Coy from 9th SS Pz Div was still resisting itself in the middle of Renkum. It was dealt with by 17.00 hours. Then, during a break in combat, I decided to reshuffle my forces:
- North Bank: 1st Para Bde HQ, 1st and 2nd Para Bn, 1st Para Sqn RE
- South Bank: 3rd Para Bn, 9th Abn Fd Coy, 1st Pl, 21st Indep. Para Coy, 1st Abn Recce Sqn
The fighting died down during the night, with some mortar barrages being exchanged. However, all hell broke loose at about 07.00 hours with strong enemy formations pounding my forces on the north bank. Especially 1st Para Sqn RE performed admirably, because they held my right flank together in the face of Jagdpanzers, StuGs, French Chars and Panzer IVH's.
The South Bank wasn't undisturbed either. Some motorized infantry shot at my forces from a distance, but they didn't seem like a threat, so I sent the pathfinders back across the river to reinforce 1st Para Sqn RE. In the dying few seconds of the battle (20.50 - 21.00) the Renkum Ferry Objective (North Bank) first was lossed and at 20.58 was secured, so I still won a decisive victory.
Results: Heavy losses inflicted on the Germans and a secure crossing over the Nederrijn
Reward: congratulations from Montgomery (the objective of my hidden agenda [;)])
I also wanted to tell the people from Matrix and Panther Games, that they do an awesome job and I can't wait for their next release.
