Try and be open for Lemurs version too. It is not as rigid as the stock version.

The really odd thing is that when the game first came out, everyone wanted to play the IJN as I recall. But now it seems that everybody wants to play the allies.

24 hour first turns tend to beat a person down. Plus the production intimidates them.

Hi,
what´s puzzling me is your "Vary set up - ON". If this was discussable or you would allow me some tests against the AI first, I could offer:
- Two PBEM-Games (only short) experience as Jap.
- Long strategic games experience - with GG-games since the 80s, including PacWar and UV.
- Potential of one turn per day, on weekends possibly more.
- One game with me as the allies starting, so in the opening I should have enough timme for another game.
If you are interested, please contact me by PM.

I’m really open to anything. Will discuss any terms
I just choose VARY set-up because of the element of surprise. I’ve found that with the VARY set up the DEC 7th results can go either way. I seen results go both ways lost more than historical and lost less than historical
Since everybody knows the historical results the use of VARY set up adds that unknown to the game. This way the IJN opponent really does not know how successful his opening attack was.
I don’t have a problem being the whipping boy for the IJN player for the first two years of the game. But if the IJN player doesn’t know what damage was done to the Allied fleet, then he has to play a whole different game.
The really odd thing is that when the game first came out, everyone wanted to play the IJN as I recall. But now it seems that everybody wants to play the allies.
I’m pretty well versed in the US Pacific Theater, I Know the ships and capabilities. Still learning IJN capabilities based on a game of this scale. In time I’ll switch over. UV was easy the entire Pacific is a different story

I didn't like playing the Allies in UV... in WitP its a bit different though. In 1941/42, which is when most pbems are set, the allies are the underdogs, but they arent total cripples. You can achieve local military superiority. I find it more interesting than UV because of that. Glorious holding actions around Java and the Philippines while carriers make a mess of Rabaul before the Japs even take the place off the Aussies, theres just more strategy then digging in and waiting for the Forts which is what UV seemed to be about.
And yes, the Japanese first turn must be a mare. And production I've not even looked into. I can barely work out how it works for the Allies, and it only seems to be "Haul megabux from San Fran to Aus".
