On French bases ?

I tried to create a mapiconsF.bmp, mapiconsFR.bmp, mapiconsFRA.bmp, but none of them are working, so I guess it's not that easy.

I was interested in making a msall scenario for the battle of Koh-Chang, but I'd like to see a French flag on french base without having to replace the mapiconsA.bmp file [:(]

The game only reads the default bitmaps (except for ship bitmaps you can specify new ones). You'd have to overwrite another nation to do it.

So I'll have for example to overwrite Canada, and declare all French base as Canadian, for them to have a French flag ?

Not sure on that. France is listed as a nation in the database, but IIRC its aliased to the British flag.

I thought it aliases to the "Allies" flag, as on Scen 15, Noumea is declare a French base, but is displaying the green and white star flag ?

Flags are aliased to commands. Noumea (French Base) is aliased to SOPAC command, which is a US command. Port Moresby (Australian Base) is an Australian Command base, hence the Aussie flag. I can switch PM to a SWPAC base (American Command), and the flag changes to a US flag, but it is still an Australian Base. France has no commands in the game, hence no flags.

How will you do for the Plan Orange mod ? After all, France certainly would be a player there, wouldn't it ?

French Indo China bases are all going to be under South East Asia control. While still French bases (And frenchie units), the flags will be British. At this time, France did not have a large, significant presence in the Pacific, so I will compensate by giving the British more ships, and the French none.

Also, on the subject of base commands, Japan will only have territory in Mongolia. All of China, French Indo CHina, and Thailand will be under Allied Control. (The War with China did not begin until 1931, The invasion of French Indo China not till 1940-41, and the invasion of Thailand not until 1941).
