How exactly does historic first turn work, if you are creating a new scenario/mod? If you an already assigned objective will those order just get executed ( e.g. port attack Pearl Harbor)? Is it possible for ambitious operations like an airborne assualt?
Oh, and a tip for anyone modding out there, be real careful about adding new units/locations found out the hard way that if you add a new LCU type, you have to go back and change all of the other LCUs to point to the right template.

Back when I was tinkering with the idea of a game starting with the Sino-Japanese war, I experimented a little with the warp portion of the 12/7/41 turn. I really didn't play with the historic start feature, but it seems to me that all you have to do for an amphibious invasion would be to load the LCU onto a transport fleet (database; under locations, page two, third block down titled - "loading") then give the transports a destination. As for airdrops, I don't know if you could "load" them onto an air unit or not, but setting the mission and target for the planes would be easy enough.
Yep, just checked - Transport troops is available under missions in the "air groups". Should be a done deal. Let me know how it turns out.

I tried the load troops, however, it did not work as expected. Of course this was for a 'Taming the Bear' mod that I put together, since I was influenced by Hirohito's Russia first thread. I cannot remember the name, but the one Russian city with 720 HI is very lightly defended, seemed like the ideal candidate for an airborne invasion. Anyhow, after watching the Red Airforce shred the IJA Airforce, this is beging to look like a bad idea, it is still early though.
