killing Axis left & right, still losing badly in points

Hello all,

I'm fairly new to BiN, got it about five days ago. I've finally played enough test games and read through the manual & tutorial enough to feel comfortable with the mechanics. Now I'm in turn 16 of Breakout and I'm running through the Axis everywhere. They don't have a cohesive line anywhere on te field & I have full manuverablity. (AI's on 'normal'). Even though I prtty much rule the battlefield, I'm losing badly from a points perspective. I'm down something like 1,500 - 2,000 points heading for abrutal defeat. What gives? I've had a hrd time trying to orient my tactics for securing objective vs. killing units, but I wouldn't expect the difference to be quite so great. A friend of mine also got the game, hasn't made anywhere near the progerss I have, but is beating the computer handily.

Any tips for those of us more adept at roasting enemy than gaining points?

Look at the victory points for cities... undoubtedly while you're whipping up on the enemy units, you have yet to capture the key cities.

Historically, by the end of the period of time covered by the Breakout scenario, the Allies owned virtually the entire map. The Victory Points for the scenario reflect this, so as well as killing lots of German units, you have to reach some fairly distant objectives. Check those out on the map and you'll see where you should be heading.

Is there a shortcut to displaying the victory points on a map other than individually right-clicking on each town hex? Oops I think I see the answer in the patch, F9 to display?
