First week of the war. Big IJ convoy heading towards newly-captured Davao. A half-dozen minesweepers and patrol craft plus a crack DD division escorting 6 APs with engineers and AAA, 8 AKs full of supplies, 6 TK with oceans of fuel....and one of Japans 3 precious, irreplacable ADs to support the surface actions sure to come as things heat up in the DEI. Guess which ship is torpedoed and sunk in a rare, successful early-war US sub attack?
