Am new player playing first year scenario, I have several areas on computer control. Is there any way to filter lists or cycle buttons so bases and units I don't control are not shown?

You can also hit [2] hotkey which will show you on the tactical map which hexes are controlled by which zone.

You may not want to leave areas on computer control since it may cause some irregularities with what you may be trying to do as units pass through these areas etc.

I agree

Even if you're playing against the AI and don't want to be bothered with certain areas it's better to just "stand them down" than let the computer ruin them for you.
