for example, I have the throttle on my joystick for the throtle so I set the a and z keys to something else and cleared the throttle map compleatly. but it keeps reverting back to a and z.

Try setting your throtle to a gameport instead of a range ok Keys (A - Z).
It should work. Tell me how it worked out for you as it worked out for my Saitek X-45 when I first installed it on this computer.

that didnt realy make sence.

but I worked out what is happening, it is not saving null keymaps, so you have to open the key.cfg file and do it manuly if you want something not mapped to anything.

ok that was wrong, it still remaped itself back from null to a. (and z)
