Turn Replay Anomalies

Not sure whether to post this here or in the Support Forum.

In a current BIN game(latest patch) I am witnessing strange behaviour when viewing the replay. For example, front lines are 'wrong' and portions of the replay are missing for this game, units are in the wrong position and/or move to places they shouldn't, combat occurs in empty hexes yet losses are still present, and the combat results don't always reflect what happened, ie units should have retreated but didn't or it showed like last turn units destroyed that weren't. After the replay ends everything seems 'normal' and it isn't a FOW issue.

It never occured in KP and I have played or am playing 8 PBEM games with BIN and it has happened in 2 of them. A friend more technical than I said it's because the opponent's turns are being played on more than one computer. Is that possible?! Or is this a bug? Any comments welcome.

Ron,

In secure PBEM games if your opponent does not finish the turn in one attempt (i.e. exits with "x" button midway thru), the replay is getting scrambled badly.

It was never advertized as a way to save games in progress (even though we most all live by this:)... it cannot be done now. Will probably lead to a second patch to correct this (I hope it does!).

Thanks for the reply JSS, I didn't know that, but it still leaves more puzzling questions. How come more people haven't commented on the broken Replay then? A feature IMO that is vital to 'see what's going on' in a given game. I would imagine a fair percentage of players, myself included, aren't able to complete a PBEM turn in one sitting and 'Save' by exiting. In addition how come only a few secure games saved this way are affected then?

As it stands now, without a viable Replay, a significant part of the game is broken; handicapping the players affected. I find it a major shortcoming not being able to review what went on in my opponent's turn and hope it get's fixed soon.

Its been mentioned quite a few times on the Run 5 site & once we got an answer the topic died.
