I have played the origional demo version of this game but didn't like the fact that
you have to start as a fighter pilot. (Unless I've missed something).
In the full game/Campaign can you start as a fleet commander ?
I would be more interseted in playing it as a game than as a sim I think.

It's still setup so that you have to start out as a fighter pilot. However, it doesn't take that long to be promoted enough so you can start commanding frigates.

Also, remember that your rank has no bearing in custom missions. You can command a carrier or cruiser regardless of your rank.

Unless I am mistaken, can't you set your starting rank as admiral?

Dunno! It took me 250.000 pts to become Grand Admiral... twice!!! [:'(]
