Crash to desktop when I tried use custom missions from Starshatter Central. Missions were something about battleship and Maru. I've got version 3.9.4.

All missions on Starshatter Central were made with version 4.03 and that's probably why they are not working on your computer - as you have an older version of SS. [:(]
Other, some of the missions available in SS Central require mods to work with SS (like the Star Wars missions I wrote, using Melkor's SW mod 4).
If a mission needs a particular mod, it is explained in the mission's description.

You have to update your version of SS to 4.03 level, ortherwhise you are liable to continue having trouble with those missions and not beeing able to play online games, unless you find a partner/opponent wich is using exactly the same version of SS as you are!!!

I think everybody is using 4.03 version now and "rumors" sugest a new version is liable to be released.
To update your copy of SS you should log on to Matrix games and go to your account.
You will find a list of the games you bought from them and any update files available.

If none of this makes sense or works out for you, try posting on the Starshatter support forum, saying that you bought the game and ask for a solution to update it to 4.03 standard.
I'm sure someone will be getting to you as soon as possible.
