I have received my February issue of PCGamer magazine in the mail yesterday, and they have a review of Tin Soldiers: ATG on page 75. They score the game an impressive 89%.

OK, well, here ya go:

"Every once in a while a game will creep up, tap me on the shoulder, and remind me why I love gaming. A game that jerks me out of my take-out-the-garbage-and-the-trash, work-a-day world and throws me onto a distant battlefield. Tin Soldiers is such a game."

Three paragraphs follow after that to describe the game to the reader.

Last paragraph:

"Tin Soldiers is a treasure of a wargame. It aptly portrays his fight to conquer the world, and it works hard to transport you to the scene of its battles."

The cut-scene graphics are described as "low-budget but effective...", and is the only near negative comment in the review. The author liked the unique "hand painted miniatures" approach.

The reviewer/author was Mr. Mark H. Walker. The review was admittedly short (five or six paragraphs) because of having to share the same page with another review (of Battles in Normandy). But an 89% rating is nuthin to sneeze at, IMO.

Hehe.. a hope mbelew has his copy too by now. It must have been infuriating to know the "score" without being able to read the article.

Malk Walker is a very well respected figure in the industry and knows his wargaming like few others, which makes the score even more impressive.

I saw the score on GameRankings, and I camped out all weekend next to my mailbox. I finally got it yesterday. Woo Hoo!

I can't 'emote' how excited I am for that score. Not much time to celebrate though, I'm busy cranking on our next project. Oh, OK, One beer then. . Maybe another...

I just got TS: Alex the Great a few days ago, and I have to say that this game is very fun and challenging, so hears one for you.

Looking forward to your next game.[&o]
