If I play with fast arty off,I never have any
problems. But if I use fast arty on,when the arty fires I don't hear anything,it's always silent and after it fires my terran sounds and musical scores stop working.I still hear unit sound effects however...

In the first place, fast art. seem to be less destructive then using it off. U can take out unit better with fast art off. So why bother to have the fast art. on in the first place.

There are good reasons to have fast artillery on, such as having the game move quicker. If there's a lot of artillery involved, it can be a looooong barrage. (Some scenarios start with a barrage, and they can take forever!) On the other hand, with fast artillery off, you can sometimes see where the enemy fire came from. (And get to hear all those lovely explosions.)

I've never noticed that the damage is any less with fast artillery on, nor should there be.

Never ran into the soundtrack and weather sounds thing, since I always keep them off anyway. (They distract me.) As for the explosions not going "boom," they're just happening too fast for the sound, that's normal.

Hello

The Arty sounds, when you have fast arty on, were disconnected sometime during version 2.xx..or 3.xx.

This happened because it caused some machines to hangup during long artillery barrages.
(mine included)

Thanks I'll just keep the fast arty off so I don't have any problem, the fast arty option is boring anyway.
Yes I like all the incoming arty sounds.

I have seen the same thing. With FAST ARTY ON, you never see any damage, I can't find anyone suppressed and if smoke was ordered, the screen is very thin. With ARTY OFF, these problems go away.

But Warrior is right, it sure speeds up the game! :D

Yap there is a reduction of incoming rounds with fast arty, so also less damage.
A nice workaround is to set the delay time to 0 so the shell falls with very quick ratio, and with enhanced sound effects.

Fast Artillery always use to have audio, now it does not on my machine as well. During the beginning of the 1st barrage there is a blip of an explosion and after that there is just no audio. Paul, its got to be a bug!

If I'm looking for a scenario I will keep Fast Art ON, but generally while playing I prefer it OFF unless the bombardments are ridiculously humongous. There should not be a difference between the results of having Fast Art On versus it being Off. However, with Fast Art Off you can take notice of its effects better.

I think the sound is supposed to be off with "Fast Arty" on. Myself, I like watching (and hearing) each of my rounds deal death and destruction!

Unless I know I'll have a huge bombardment, I keep "Fast Arty" off for more game enjoyment.

I tested extensively for 5.0 and there is no differencein results with Fast Arty on or off...just how long it takes to see it happen.
