I've got SPWAW version 8.3 installed and want to also install the Desert Fox Mega Campaign, but the CD wants to install version 5.0 along with the Mega Campaign and I don't want that to happen, anyone with an idea to work around this..?? Thanks..

I will take a shot at this seeing as no one else has.
I would go ahead and install it as it wants to, with ver 5.0 and the MCNA. Of course be sure it installs into a different folder than your 8.3 version. Then just copy the MC files over to your 8.3. I would isolate the 8.3 first, possible by changing the name of the SP folder to something obscure, just for insurance. Change it back after.

Good reply, John. You can do that or simply tell the install program to install the entire MC-NA and version file to a different directory. Then you can move the entire megacam folder to the current SPWAW folder and afterward delete the 5.0 version.

I am not so sure this is the best route to take.
If you have room on your harddrive for both installs you might benefit from playing Desert Fox using the version 5 install but with the version 8.3 mech.exe file
Playing DF in v8.3 may introduce problems with graphics in the scenarios.
Playing DF in the v5 install but with the v8.3 mech.exe will give you no problems with graphics you will benefit from the improved game engine.

8.3 works fine with DF. What you could do is:
1) Install 5.0 with DF, and any other MC disks you have, and MC patches
2) Copy or zip your Mega Campaign directory and all sound files 11000.wav and higher numbers. (DF starts at 21000.wav)
3) Uninstall the privious versions of SP:WaW and install 8.3.
4) Copy back or unzip your Mega Campain directory and the sound files.
I have all 4 MCs on my home system, and everything runs quite well. The only thing I didn't like were the new infantry icons. You can find the old one in the Extras directory. Watch the Matildas, taking them out is numbers game. Youu'll see what I mean.

Hi Alby!
Halftrack-icon is shown if scenario/camp is designed for older OOBs and MG is moved to some other slot. But you knew this already [;)] What scenario/camp are you playing?
If this happens in random battles, then MG is not linked to proper OOB-slot and is in need of fixing. Halfies are used when there is missing icon.
