AFAIK - they have no extra rallying capacity.

With their low carry capacity - they are just transport for command type units, ie. units with small carry costs.

It's a matter of roleplying I guess, do you want your HQ traveling around in a truck - or a spiffy command vehicle?

I look at them as "Game Candy", just like command tents, etc.

I thought command tents gave a rally bonus to surrounding units . . . if not, why to they come with an experience bonus?

Well, I suppose there would be nothing wrong with upgrading your A0 unit to a Command Post or other HQ-type emplacement, but in succeeding battles you would be stationary, and therefore a sitting duck.

One could also buy a CP as a support unit in a defend/delay scenario, but I really don't think this expands the rally/command radius. The special rating of 10 only designates that this unit is more likely to recover suppression (say, after a bombardment/air attack).

There may be occasions when you want to shelter your A0 in a bunker (think 1944-45 as a German Kommandeur facing a Russian assault), but as General Longstreet's character stated in "Gettysburg", "Can't lead from the rear". I think Rommel would've fully agreed with that statement. So would have Chesty Puller or Merritt Edson. [;)]
