This is the first I have heard of this add-on to WITP.

In Uncommon Valour, I took one of the standard scenarios with a time frame of 3 or 4 months.

In the scenario editor, I removed all aircraft carriers and all battleships. Including those to arrive later in the scenario.

And I played it in a PBEM game.

This is the best scenario I ever played!

You truly get the feeling of troops stranded in the South Pacific with few supplies.

You truly get the feeling, that you need to move forward slowly from one island to the other, and build bases there, so your air power can support the next advance to the next island

You truly get the feeling the game was meant to convey.

I know what you mean Joe. War Plan Orange, from turn one feels completely different. No longer do you have to keep your fleet bottled up for fear of Kido Butai. Also, you can't (successfully) land anywhere you please. You must form a strategy, and stick to it. And, you will shelter your dreadnoughts. No londer will it be where battleships are merely something to soak up bombs so your CVs don't get hit. Now, you will cringe if their paint gets scratched.
