Problem

Marky an me wanted to start a PBEM but we encountered a serious problem that his savegames did not show up in my game menu and vice versa.
His savefiles are called f.e. 001save.dat and my files are called 001_01.01.42.usv
For me it worked that i just renamed his "dat" to a "usv" file ....i found the game ..could load it ...and could make my turn...but
for him it seems not to work.
Maybe the problem is caused that he uses Windows XP and i still have Win98....as it organizes the save files in another way.
Any idea??

Two things:
1) Are you sure both of you use the 2.30 version of the game???. This is very important to check it out
2) Make sure that when you download the files your windows doesn´t change the .uvs to .dat. Just check it when you save the file to your computer.

apparently V 2.30 saves files as UVS files and and 2.00 saves it as DAT files

Ah so our previous problem was that you wasnt patched to 2.30......but now as you are patched to 2.3 it should work....
Maybe there is a problem of different versions? Is the US version compatible with the euro version?
arghhh....i spent so much time in planning my first turn.....the first one is almost the longest one [:(]
I could try to sent you my uvs file in the evening....i still have it maybe it will work....or you try just to rename it simple to a uvs file......as originally it was an uvs file

You mean when i saw this weak forces i abandomed my idea? LOL ....or because of your overwhelming move which i never saw ....no.no i stick with allies.....before i do my move again i will sent you my turn from yesterday again....
Did you already tried to rename my sent save to usv? You should name it like it was named originally. Just look into your save files and look how your 9th file is named and name it like that....this should do the trick.
Maybe its worth trying it
