I've never played a game over e-mail and I have a few questions. Is there a common area that we can submit our e-mail addresses to when we want to get a game going? If so, is it created my Matrix or is it on the players to create one on a fan site? Is there a designated "master" computer that starts the game with all the conditions set? I pre-ordered this game already mainly for the single player campaign, but the PBEM sounds really fun and a change of pace after I get the hang of it.

PBEM's are easy to start. Whomever starts as Germany sets the conditions, scenario, etc - runs their turn and then emails the turn to the next person or their opponent.

Its very easy & depending on your opponent, the games can go quickly. I was never a big PBEM, but GGWaW has made me a convert. This game really shines.

That's good, because - speaking as long time PBEM fan and veteran - I think this game is absolutelly ideal as "first PBEM game".

Yes as Paullus said, in PBEM you just mail your turns using your preferred e-mail software (Outlok, Eudora, whatever).

When the game is released I expect Matrix will set up a dedicated sub-board for finding PBEM oponents, as is the case with other Matrix games that support PBEM. Check out War in the Pacific board for instance, and you'll find "Opponents wanted" sub-board. You don't have to know someone personally to play vs. him via Internet: people will meet and arrange their games on that board.

CPTBrown, you cannot imagine how enlightening PBEM can be. I can see that WaW will have similar mechanics to SC, my fav PBEM platform. I play people all over this little planet, conversing with them of life, loves, trials and tribulations with a central theme of playing a game. Its like a window to the world of very interesting human perspectives, and only serves to enhance your quality of life. Welcome to Earth.
