I've been bruend by a no-demo game from Matrix already. $45 down the toilet for a game I found I didn't like adn will never play again.

So, in hind-site I wished I'd had a demo to play even 5 minutes worth of the game. So, with money being tight, I cannot afford to make another mistake like that. Are you going to release a demo for FG which I am very interested in, or would you prefer to lose more sales?

Jpinard,

There is currently no demo plan for this title, but we have not ruled one out for the future. We do have demos for some of our other titles - for example Alexander the Great and Starshatter, which I encourage you to try out if you haven't already.

Regards,

- Erik

Read the AARs to get the feel for the game [;)]

Hi!
The AARs were very good. But many times the decision of potential buyers lays in aspects of the game that are unsuspected to the AARs author. For instance, I didn't know that dismounted infantry was not modelled until somebody asked about it.
In my case, one thing that I couldn't figure out of the AARs is the game mechanics: how after you issue orders, hit the resolve turn button and things start to happen while you watch.
If no demo will be available, a flash demo would be helpful. Other thing would be to release the game manual, so potential buyers read it and decide if the game is suitable for them or not.
Cheers,

For this kind of game, I do not see the interest to propose a demo.
the public for this type of product is more interested by reading an AAR, which have for goal to present the game, and to show its various possibilities in terms of rules, or gameplay. Moreover a wargames needs a large documentation, and a player who simply want testing a demo, will not take the time to read a such documentation.

After that, if there is something you want to know, there is often after the availability of the game, a quick feedback from players (in this forum...), about several good or bad things, that people thinks about it.

Well it IS mentioned in one of the AARs [;)]

As for the demo, I can't speak officially, but as always it's a matter of allocating resources, ie. developer(s), ie what do you (and me, and other gamers) want Robert to do in the coming weeks: improve the FPG engine and squash possible bugs or devote his very limited time to making a demo?

Ey Oleg, I guess I missed that one. But as I said I don't mind about that specific issue.
In my case, FPG was better than what I expected having read the AARs.
