Since Mike Wood is already "into the code" for this one, are they planning on any improvements to the logistic's management side of things. Kinda like a game state datadump in csv format. Would make a nice addition.[:D]

I don't think so. They main point behind the code changes (other than a new executable) was to fix things that WitP's code would not allow, namely campaigns set 20 years before Pearl Harbor.
However, logistics will be more of a central feature and more involved, as ships use more fuel and tankers carry less, to reflect bulky coal. If it gets to be too much of a hassle I'll see what he can do, but from what I have played it will be more difficult, but no more than would h ave been historically.

Thanks for the reply.
I have been waiting for WPO to add to WitP. BUT, if the logistics is going to be more of a pain then I'll probably pass. WitP is a terrific game, but to do it justice needlessly takes too much time with the logisitics side of things. What I mean is that there is a far better and efficient way to collect this information that is
1) Less time consuming
2) Provides a means to actual use it for planning purposes
Anyway, Look forward to following the posts in the forum anyways. Good luck on the project.

No no no, it won't be more of a pain in that its too much to handle. What I meant is that convoys are going to play a more integral part. Unlike WitP, you can't make one huge convoy and expect that to last for 6 months. You are going to have to keep regular convoys, and one of the best ways to defeat the enemy player is to sever his convoy route.
If you are the type of player that in WitP creates good convoy routes, then WPO will be no harder. But, if you are the type that just does large convoys every now and then, you might run into trouble. I did it this way for histrorical reasons, and as the Japanese player the most historical way to win, or at least buy yourself time, is to deny the US player the fuel to make it from San Diego to Pearl to Wake to Guam to finally Manila.
