We can of course take any unit and attach it to some other HQ

If a unit remains with its natural HQ, does the unit receive a bonus?

If I attach a unit to another HQ, is there a short cut way to find it’s natural HQ?

1. If a unit remains within command range of the organic superior two levels up (e.g. a battalion should remain within the command range of its organic divisional HQ) then its orders delay will generally be a bit shorter. The higher the unit has to go to find a 'delay superior' the longer the delay will be. Command range is detailed in the manual, I think in Tutorial II.

<edit: misread the question. The answer to your question is no, the unit itself doesn't receive a bonus, but the HQ commanding it does; attached subordinates apply between 2x and 3x the Staff Load applied by organic subordinates. The load is worse if the attached subordinate isn't part of the same overall formation (e.g. a company from a different battalion within the same brigade, or a battalion taken out of a regiment and attached directly to the division HQ).>

2. Not in HTTR. In AA: COTA there will be an OB Display on the Sidebar that you can use to instantly locate units in the organic order of battle.
