Landing gear (?)

Well I am looking at puting in place a Mech in SS. What I want to do to turn the legs into one solid landing gear .mag. My only issue is I want the gear to stay in its current position at the hips but I want the legs to swing down 90 degrees into the down position. Basically they will be visable in game in the gear up position but when you activate the landing gear they will swing down so they will be able to stand and make a landing.

Is this at all possible? It just makes me wonder since there is only a starting and ending position on the scripting for it. Correct me if I am wrong, but it does completely plot these points out so the legs don't seem to drop down then swing out ... ?

Just want to make shure before I position the legs ..because at times I think it will swing the leg out (when I am tired) and when I look back over the scripting I can not see it litterally turning down a .mag from a 45 degree angle stuck in one poistion to an 90 degree Angle ..

While I am writing this I am fairly certain I can not rotate the gear down.
Anyone have any thoughts to get around this?

afraid not....

In their starting positions the landing gear/legs mag is invisible(not there)

and only appears as the start to extend....

leaving u with either no legs in the up posisition or 2 sets in the down(one down,one up from the ship mag)[:D]

and as far as i know u only specify a start point for the gear mag, no rotation, so it could only drop to the end point(note this dropping motion could of course be on a diagonal)

I have played with the first bit alot(invisble raised gear) and could find no work-a-round [:(]

the 2nd bit i havent tested (rotation) but it makes sense looking at available (known[;)]) parametres

I was kind of affraid there was no rotational scripting for landing gear after regoing over the script commands for it. Its really a catch 22, you can't make legs turrets with out the ability to fire because I am fairly sure if you placed a thruster on a section of the turret it would remain in place while the .mag would have its slight movement articulation. That or it would throw a massive error and or CTD (crash to desktop).

Thanks for replying ..I had to make sure I was seeing this right on the landing gear. Just going to have to retool and rethink the legs.
