The v1.01 Update is online and can be downloaded from our Members' Area or from our Downloads page. Here is a list of changes:

Flashpoint Germany
v.1.01

New and Improved Features:

• A new screen has been created to reset global unit doctrine and reporting SOP conveniently accessed via menu item ‘View / Set Global SOP and Reporting’. These changes apply only to FRIENDLY units and only for the CURRENT scenario. The global settings themselves are saved to the database and can be modified and used any number of times if the player develops favourites.
• The Doctrine screen for HQ units now has the option to apply the same doctrine parameters to subordinate units. Subordinate HQs will in turn propagate the parameters down to their subordinates.
• Combat. Unit duels were resolved sequentially which gave a marked advantage to the first person to open fire – most often the defender. There were occasions where fire was simultaneous but this was not being triggered very often in practice. Now the criteria for simultaneous exchanges have been enlarged and the incidence of one-sided massacres will be decreased notably.
• Combat. Arty barrages that yield no kills will show one miss animation for harassing fire (0x), two miss animations for suppressing fire (1x) and three miss animations for neutralizing fire (3x).
• When the game ends all units will file a final Situation Report so that fully up to date info is available for the game post mortem.
• AI. British scenario 1 “Soviet Tank Rush”. The British defenders would valiantly attack even though greatly outnumbered. This was being forced in part by the distribution of VPs and this distribution has been changed to reward a more defensive approach. The player AI has also been retooled somewhat to make it less aggressive in these circumstances.
• AI / Pathfinding. Units will no longer try to cross known minefields unless compelled to. They will also do more to avoid chemical and nuclear contaminated locations.
• Off-map units that are reinforcements or withdrawals will no longer report to their parent HQ and run up the radio message count.
• Scenario Editor. The map showing the setup zones also now shows the sector boundaries and IDs 1 – 12.
• If Emergency Resuply is enabled and Combat Hints are enabled then an “Emergency Resupply” hint will pop up whenever a unit draws down the 3 extra ammo points and a SitRep will be created to update the UDP.
• When a rest and refit order has run for 30 minutes then an immediate extra SitRep will be generated to advise the player that the ammo supply has been restored.
• A Credits Page has been added to the game setup area. Click on the “credits” hyperlink on the setup screen to view it. It includes all game credits, year of publication, supporting website, and corporate logos.
• The function keys that call up certain displays can be used a second time to close them. ESC also closes them now as well.
• “Dismounted” weapons are now shown as such in Hardware Inspector by adding a “(dis)” for dismount as appropriate to tab labels.
• The setting that keeps the information panel on the right or left side of the game screen has been made permanent for the player.
• Mission Briefing, Staff Diary, and Staff Reports dialog screens have all been increased somewhat in physical size to increase usability

Issues Fixed:

• Bug fixed where a player could view a damaged unit in the Unit Inspector, hit the Proceed button and all losses would be magically restored.
• Head to Head setup. Doctrine was not editable for both sides at the start of the game. Now fixed.
• UI. Use of the “I” information key no longer gives away any enemy information unless setup option “Allow Enemy Browsing” is enabled.
• Combat. Helicopters were vulnerable to arty fire more then they should be. The game has been rewritten to better generate a chance of hit at a flat 2% as described in the user manual.
• The electronic warfare intensity slider in the scenario selection screen now matches the electronic warfare slider as set by the scenario designer.
• Save Game. The number of Staff Orders Points is now saved and restored when a game is saved.
• When the game ends the butcher’s bill in the Staff Diary now shows correct results in all cases.
• UI. The unit popup (right-click) menu has been replaced with a different version that is not visibly cut off in part for units in the center of the screen when the screen resolution is set to 1024 x 768.
• In some cases when a player created a scenario with improved positions and minefields they were not drawn on the map in pre-game setup phase. This has been fixed.
• Units with Hold orders set during the pre-game setup phase did not always have their Doctrine set correctly and would leave their positions prematurely.
• PBEM. Sometimes the incorrect number of turns left in the game was being reported when a game was returned.
• Tutorial 1. The two US Bradley CFV units are now being properly shown as recon instead of mech inf.
• Data. “Tunguska” misspelled in database.
