Kamikaze units

Does anyone have any info on what the "kamikaze bonus" is, in terms of damage?

I was considering playing the 1945 scenario, but a couple turns into it, I can't get most of my squadrons to convert to kamikaze units.

Is kamikaze status only for bomber units? Also, is there any damage bonus that a plane that normally carries a light or non-existant bomb load (like a lot of fighters) gets from hitting a ship? Essentially I am asking if the plane itself, crashing into the ship, does any damage?

I believe you can only convert one air unit per day. So you need to save up for big battles.

1 added per day once they are available. You can convert anything you want, but *until* 1.5, stick with converting bomber types as the non-bomber types have just been fixed. In your version they will not hit anything.

So fighters essentially don't do any kamikaze damage when they hit a ship? I don't expect them to do as much damage as a Jill, crashing into the deck of a ship while loaded with an 800 KG bomb, but there should be some basic damage done, especially against unarmored and lightly armored ships.

I believe what Mr. Frag is saying is that there is a bug in the cuurent version which causes non bomber kamikazes to cause no damage and that this is fixed in 1.5.
