In Alexander when deploying your units, you're given some options, but horses can only go in horse spots, and they can only go in a certain area of the map. I've only played to the granicus battle in Alexander so im not entirerly sure if it changes, but in Caesar will be able to deploy where we want in a certain start zone?

Copper,
You will have a lot more flexibility. there is very little forced setup in Caesar other than setup zones. Also, the battles are no longer 'on a rail' for history's sake. Instead, you can fight the battles in Order you choose in the campaign - except that you can't proceed to the civil war until you win in Gaul. Also, battles are no longer locked so you can play any battle anytime without having to unlock it in the campaign.
