Mehrunes,

Any chance we can get an update (ie, new info, commands etc.) on your webpage? I find it an invaluable modding reference. Last time I checked, your udate was in early Jan this year.

Well, I have to figure out all these newfangled bump and specular maps and whatnot. Some things seem to be futzed by the new patch and Magic doesn't seem to want to cooperate with fixing them, or I'm just being unusually dense.

Just as a random guess, but there's probably a slightly updated magic to go with the engine changes. At least I hope so.

Sorry for the delay in reply. I left work at 11:00pm yesterday (after being there at 6:15am), so I didn't get a chance to do anything other than crash for the night.

Specifically, I was referring to penetration:, but, I found some others in the rather comprehensive list over on SSC that I'm not sure what they do. For example:
part_alpha
part_bloom
part_decay
part_drag
part_frames, etc. Quite a few part_X commands

particles:
sink_rate:

That's about it for now.

I don't know what any of those does (aside from penetration, which multiplies the damage passing through a shield but won't exceed the total damage of that hit). They must all be from parts of the game that aren't explicitly moddable, for explosions perhaps.

Edit: I notice I also missed "attachment", which goes in weapon .defs and tells the game where to place visible ordinance (one attachment parameter per unit of ammo). Anyone know the limit on that?
