I really wanted to like this

Having read so much about it I expected to be buying this title.

However I cannot get on with the user interface. I play HTTR and FPG and I find them intuitive hardly requiring any effort but BIN requires effort even after plodding through the laborious tutorials.

Hey ho, I suppose its horses for courses and each to their own.

Sure is.

I have HTTR and can't get into that.

I've been on the HTTR beta team, and I can vouch it's a great game series and system.

I remember when I first got KP, I almost felt overwhelmed by the richness of the map and the difference in the interface. After a while, when my eye got trained to recognising the useful information from the eye candy and I got into a turn routine, I started enjoying it.

I have a few gripes with the interface (I don't like the right-click/hover thing to get unit details) and I so would like having delayed tooltips/unit info when hovering over units on the map. But there's no doubt KP/BiN are quality games and I'll continue buying them as long as the series evolves.

Give it a longer shot. :)

When I first started playing BIN it was hard for me to get used to the system. I played through the tutorials and then went on to the Overlord campaign. After a week of that I went back to the tutorials and spent a lot of time reading and re-reading to understand what was going on. The second time through a light came on and the system started to make sense.

This is now one of my favorite systems for a game and I will buy future releases when they come out.

Its really not that diffcult it may look like that at first but its really a very well done system. No operational game has come close to this kind of detail yet simple interface which makes the game addictive and fun. I can't wait for the other battles to come out.
