Link: NavyField
Navy Field is a Massively Multiplayer Online Tactics Simulation Game based on World War II naval battles.

Looks like it could be fun between two WitP sessions and is (currently) free. Anybody here tried it yet?

Thanks for the link.
Looking at the manual and the trailer it seems to have some potential. I will give it a try while waiting for the Allied team to make their moves.

I've tried it and wasnt terribly impressed. I beleive that Tanker and Irrelevant were first on the scene there (sorry if I mixed something up guys). Irrelevant (if it was him) called it 21st century Pong, IIRC. [:)]

Its amusing at first, and then you get bored with it. At least I did.

Well, yes, i am spending more time with crashes than playing. As is said a lot of potential, but...

Luckily we have WITP.
And soon WPO. Thx to Tankerace.

Hey Tank, who's on first? It's Irrelevant. [:D]

Yeah, I admit I was very enthused in the begining. That "ship assembly" part looks very cool. But it all goes downhill from there. Maybe I would have stuck with it a bit longer but I had a Star Wars Divided Galaxies account at the time and there was just nooo contest.

Come to think of it, I wish there was a "naval architecture" game. Just to screw around with different hull designs and such without learning Cobol. Back in the day they had a Star Trek TNG game like that, forgot what it was called. The game itself was weak but the concept is great.

I think the best "naval Architecture" game has to be Koei's Warship Gunner and Warship Commander for the Playstation 2. The action is arcade like, but slapping different parts on ships (which is actually done realistically, down to engines and boilers and such) is fairly fun. I remember I had a Battleship with 20" guns, but it could only do about 16 knots.

You're quite welcome. Im hoping it can be out pretty quickly. I hope that after 1.5 is released things will greatly pick up as far as WPO is concerned.

Wish I was cool like other people and knew where to get these things and how to emulate them on a PC.

I know how to emulate a PS1 game, but not a PS2. Like I said though, its arcade and kinda corny. You start in a tin can with 4.7" guns, and end the game in a super dreadnought with laser beam weapons. You can play in a WW2 only mode, which means you can only get 16" guns while fighting ships with laser beam weapons. Still, it is a pretty fun diversion.

I wish there were a couple of brilliant C programmers who salivate just like I do at the thought of a program like that.
