Any Other Strategy Articles Out There?

The articles on Run 5 were very helpful for me playing the Allies at the beginning of the game - BUT, it's now 19 Jun (I'm playing the 76 turn version) and I seem to be frustratingly going nowhere. My German opponent has now established a line in the bocage where the best odds I can get are frequently no more than 4-1 or 5-1 with a smattering of 10-1's where he obviously almost dares me to attack him there. Yes, yes - I know about the enormous difficulties bocage presented, but turn after turn after turn of conducting multiple 10-1 attacks in bocage frequently results in no effect or a loss of just one step to the German defender. In the British zone, I've essentially got a stalemate, as when I try to assemble those meager Brit units for a schwerpunckt attack, my German opponent naturally gangs up on those parts of the line I weakened - it feels really strange being subject to strong German attacks since historically the Germans in this sector were almost exclusively on the defensive. What am I missing here? Should I be conducting low odds attacks along the entire line (trusting to die rolls eventually going my way) and then using my large replacement pools to keep units up to strength? I'm really at a loss here - it almost feels like I'll be stuck on this line for the whole game and my German opponent is loving it!

Quick answer--try the multiple 5-1's. I've not played this scenario, but the Allies may have a nice arty bonus, so the more attacks you make, the more you can utilize that bonus.

I'm not sure if the Run5 articles you've read were mine, but see my sig and check 'em out! You'll find that the bocage CRT is very balanced in BiN and so you can do either the multiple 5-1's or the 10-1's and get pretty much the same result.

At this point, though, you probably want the 5-1's and attack units where you can knock off an AT factor when the defender loses a step. Then use your better shock units on the second attack to hit him again if the first attack worked. If that comes through then you may be able to get a third attack in on the crippled defender.

Attacking up and down the line with arty support could leave rubble behind his lines--couple that with interdiction AND the fact that the attacks used up a defender bullet and you can force him to retreat to avoid being put out of supply even if your attack missed.
