How does 7 Uboats sound? After some thought, I have added in the 7 Uboats surrendered to Japan in 1918. While they were partially dissasembled in 1921, WPO assumes they are hastilly rebuilt and ready for sea in November of 1922 (Note, they will not be in the later campaigns).
The Ships are Named with their German Hull number, with their Japanese designation in parenthesis. I.e., the U-43 "Mittel-U" boat U-46 is known as U-46 (O2). Upon being taken over by Japan, all 7 boats were assigned an O number. The classes and boats included:
U-43 Mittel-U patrol submarine U-46 (O2)
U-51 Mittel-U patrol submarine U-55 (O3)
UE-II Cruiser Minelaying Submarine U-125 (O1)
UC-III Coastal Minelaying Subs UC-90 (O4) and UC-99 (O5)
UB-III Coastal Submarines UB-125 (O6) and UB-143 (O7)
A Small weapons database is available, consiting of the 15cm/45 Ubts and 8.8cm/30 Ubts Guns, 50cm G6 and G7 torpedoes, and the Typ I moored contact mine.
Sound Good? Yes.... screenshots to follow later today.

Yep. A few Type IXCs, but mostly Type IXD2s. Some operated in the Indian Oceon while based in the Atlantic, but the Monsoon Boats operated out of Singapore. On May 4, 1945 when All German naval units surrendered, the 3 Type IX and 1 Type X boats based in Singapore were taken over by Japan, and became the Japanese I500 series boats. I don't think any saw combat in the role, however.
German subs taken over by Japan are:
U-181, Type IXD. Became I501 on July 15, 1945
U-195, Type IXD, Became I506 on July 15, 1945
U-511, Type IXC, was sold to Japan in 1943, becoming RO-500.
U-862, Type IXD, Became I502 on July 15, 1945
U-219, Type XB, Became I505 on July 15, 1945
RO-500 surrendered at Maizuru in August 1945, but all the boats taken over by Japan surrendered in the DEI in 1945.

I knew about RO 500 but I did not know about the other ones.
strange. Were the Boats manned by the german original seamen ? I mean, germany surrendered...why they bothered about japan and risked their life ? Or were they manned by the japs ?
Did the germans continued to fight ? weired !

According to Combinedfleet.com, using I501 (es U-181) as an example:
On 6 May, 1945 the commander of the 13th Area arrived (with armed troops) to inform the Uboat commanders that since germany had capitulated, they were to be interned. A large "European style" dinner was held for the German officers, and then they and their crews were trucked to a rubber plantation for internment.
On 15 July 1945, the German boats are officially commissioned into the IJN (altough on 6 May the German battle ensigns were replaced by Japanese ones). The Former German crew are used to teach new Japanese sailors about the Type IX boats.
In August, it is planned to use the German boats for training, and then send them to Japan to be fitted for use with Japanese torpedoes, however, on 16 August Japan surrenders its ships in the DEI to the Royal Navy.
End fates of the uboats:
U-181 (I501). Surrendered on 16 August with U-862 (I502) and the Cruiser Myoko. On 30 November, her former German crew stips her of all valuable parts, and she is scuttled on 16 February, 1946.
U-862 (I502). Same as above, yet was scuttled on 15 February.
U-219 (I505). Taken over by the Japanese on 5 May 1945, she is forced to Surabaya (under Japanese control but with her German crew) where her crew is interned. Because of a lack of crew, she stays at her moorings, until surrendered in August. She is scuttled sometime in February.
U-195 (I506). On 5 May taken over by Japanese personnel, and her crew interned. In September of 1945 she surrenders, but Indonesian rebels overrun the U boat, and with its 10.5cm cannon destroy the city of Surabaya's power plant. Nepalese Gurkhas under British control re-seize the Uboat, and hoist the Union Jack. Her former crew man the diesel engines, which are used to create power for the city until the destroyed plant can be repaired. She is scuttled in February of 1946.
U-511 (RO-500) No data, other than she was scuttled by the US Navy in April of 1946. The above boats were scuttled by the Royal Navy.

U-195 (I506). On 5 May taken over by Japanese personnel, and her crew interned. Wow!
Everything else is "surrendered and scuttled". This is "surrendered, taken over, blows more stuff up, taken over again, and used as a flaoting power plant."
