Alright, so PBEM is in the game, but is there any option for IP or Lan play?

no, the game was designed for quick turn-around PBEM play. (and solo AI play of course)

Not at this time. With each player's turn taking somewhere between 5 and 30 minutes (and there being 5 players), you'd spend most of your time waiting for your opponents to move. There has been some discussion of perhaps releasing an IP/LAN version as a patch, but nothing has been decided.

PBEM is a really nice feature. It means you can play a game while not being stuck in the seat. You do your turn send it and you can work, watch TV or go get lunch.

I play Computer War in Europe which uses this and it is wonderful.

I have many players who can do turn arounds in 5 minutes until Russia is involved of course.

Try it you will like it.

TCP/IP or LAN can be a nice addon though, especially when you want to play long games in one sitting between 2 players. (One Axis, one Allied.)

"Play by email" each player does his turn and emails it to the next player in line.
