If you can bear waiting... get it retail (wish I did)

Well, I could not bear waiting any longer so I got it DD. No problems with DD at all, but I have to say the pdf manual is excellent. For this reason alone I wish I'd waited and purchased it retail. You REALLY need the manual to play (and I hate reading pdf's). It's way more cost effective to buy it retail then going DD and then having to print out parts/all of the very large pdf.
Great game! Just thought I'd throw this out here for anyone else that was in my position. Personally I think the nice manual would have been worth the wait.

I agree, I haven't gotten through a lot of the manual, but the in-game tutorial clearly shows the basic jist of the game.
The manual seems necessary though to really sink your teeth into it. I have a color printer at work I think I can print this out on tomorrow, otherwise I might have considered buying a second retail copy and giving my DD to a coworker I know that likes ww2.

Thanks Guys. I am, by nature, very impatient. Your comments have helped me to fight the urge to download immediately. Much as I hate to do it, I'll wait until I can find it in a local store...

Simple choices ...
Buy a 23" monitor to read PDF's on while you play on your other screen
or
Buy the game so you have a manual to have open when you play.
I think you'll find the retail option a tad bit cheaper, the 23" panel is $2700 [:D]
(but if you really are as warped as me, god it looks good!)

I have a copy on order with EB. It is a test of will not to download it, but I will...fight....the...urge...
unless EB does not get it tomorrow.[:D]

Just finished printing the manual in mono, A4 double sided for a few pounds (twice that in dollars) and don't see a problem.
At 2.5p / sheet, that is well worth it.

hehe, I have a 23" monitor. I just can't sit at my desk to read a book.

Well I never did get the SO.... expensive to print a manual thing.
Sure - if you fall for the con of ONLY buying the cartridges recommended by the printer manufacturer then its going to cost you ... but if ... you buy (for example in england - PC world own brand cartridges ) you get them for a fraction of the cost.
Just printed the whole manual using a colour and black and white crtridge that are now still over half full and which together cost me barely six pounds - indeed think with the DD and "print the manual myself" I may even have got it cheaper than retail - and didn't have to wait.
You can also buy kits to refil the manufacturers cartridges which works out even cheaper. Plus I always find the manuals a little small in the dvd covers - now got it a nice A4 size printing myself

The Dell 2405FPW is a pretty decent 24" monitor for $1200.
