Producing supply

If I am using the standard supply rules, how do I produce supply? Do I need to just build the trucks?

Yes, each supply (truck) built on the production track will become 5 supply points (trucks) on the map.

You only have to build supply when using advanced supply mode.
When using standard supply, it is produced (and distributed) automatically.
There is also no supply penalty if a unit is surrounded, either.

No, you still need to build supply when using the standard supply rule but the difference is as you noted, that it is put in a pool and will be used as needed.....the only way you do not need to build supplies is if you have the no supply option turned on.....but as is noted in the manual, using the no supply rule may skew the balance of the game....
