Got a question for everyone new to this game AND to the beta testers who have been playing
1) What is the typical range of time spend performing a turn (not the computer doing its thing, but the human). Yes I know its personality dependent, but am looking for some idea
(WitP can take awhile with 1000+ units). This question is for the nnobies and the veterans.
2) What is the typical time for the computer to do its thing ? (again, I'm basing my question on my WitP experience).
Just trying to gain an appreciation for how quickly things move along.

When I started out, it could take half an hour or 45 min to think through a turn - once you get used to it I usually take 5-10 min - rarely over 20. SOme turns are quick, some where you have an intricate supply "sliding number puzzle" to figure out, it can take half an hour, even if you "know what you are dong, but is an expception. Playing multiple countries takes longer...
The time it takes the computer is more a function of the delays you set on thign sto see what is going on, IF you miimizethem all teh computer do turns for all teh country's in less than a minute.
Al told, If I settle in after dinner and kid time 8 or 830 I can be done with a game by now (1230ish) - sometimes less if things go well, a little longer if they drag out. 3-5 hours is "normal" playing time for a game starting in Sp40 for me - 4and a half being about average.

I would guess (without experience as yet) that it (player's turn) depends very much on what SUPPLY rule is in effect, and on what COUNTRY you are playing. I find China with standard supply to not take long at all for the human turn.

This is a good observation...playing the Soviets will take less time to play per turn while playing the WA, with it's two theater war will take longer....but no matter which side you play, it is all within a reasonable framework of time....
